Transient two-phase flow behavior in wellbores and well control analysis for sour gas kick with high H2S content

چکیده

Complex two-phase flow phenomena in wellbores after sour gas kick may lead to severe well control incidents. By bridging the solubility, H2S phase transition and equations, a model is established under conditions of transient non-isothermal states wellbores, which validated against experimental data. The following conclusions are drawn article: (1) higher dissolved quantity larger density invaded containing CH4 drilling fluids makes detection influx with high content more difficult at an early stage; (2) when mixed move up wellhead, release gas, sharp decline reduce annulus pressure induce complicated risks; (3) during influx, there five major parameters that impact bottom-hole pressure, evaluated for analysis. proposed shows strong capacity exhibit proper wellhead back can help prevent risks control.

Two-phase Simulation of Well Control Methods for Gas Kicks in Case of Water and Oil-based Muds

Kick occurrence is a possible event during a drilling process. It is required to be handled immediately using a well control method to avoid blowout, financial losses and damages to the drilling crew. Several methods including driller, wait and weight, and concurrent are applicable in the drilling industry to control a well during a kick incident. In this study, typical well control methods wer...

Investigation of influential factors on well temperature for gas-liquid two-phase flow in under-balanced drilling operation

Analysis of the drilling fluid temperature due to heat transfer of drilling fluid with the formation in under-balanced drilling operation is the main objective of this study. Gas-liquid two-phase flow model considering thermal interaction with the formation is used to numerically simulate a well with real dimensions. In the present study, the continuity, momentum, and energy equations are devel...

Analysis of Transient Flow in the Case of Secondary Injection for Transient Vector Control (RESEARCH NOTE)

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the flow field structure in transient state and performance of secondary injection system for thrust vectoring in divergent section of a two-dimensional nozzle. Secondary injection for thrust vectoring in a two-dimensional nozzle is studied by solving three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged equations by means of fluent solver. Spalart-allmaras model was used ...

A method for bubble volume measurement under constant flow conditions in gas–liquid two-phase flow

Measuring the volume of a bubble, especially at its detachment, is a basic subject in gas-liquid two-phase flow research. A new indirect method for this measurement under constant flow conditions is presented. An electronic device is designed and constructed based on laser beam intensity. This device calculates the frequency of the bubble formation by measuring the total time of the formation p...
